Brand design for an energy focussed software start-up

Project overview

A UK software start-up, Senapt's mission is to revolutionise the energy as a service model with a unique set of software tools aimed at both the energy companies and consumers alike.

Having been established in 2016 with an initial brand they felt that in 2019 it needed a redesign to more closely reflect Senapt as a company on the forefront of emerging tech and an ever changing energy market.

: Design discovery, initial concepting through to final delivery of brand assets for print and digital.

The approach

Following a design discovery phase and an initial audit of the existing identity I was able to define the problem and see how I could better articulate Senapt's purpose.

Though the initial brand leaned towards the subject of sustainable energy. In reality Senapt's core offering was software and technology aimed at allowing more flexibility to energy customers and service providers. They needed a brand that would embody their futuristic vision while reflecting their grounding in technology.

Initial concepts explored various themes and ideas around the subject of homes, energy and transation.

The finalised logo used created an 's' like shape for the icon. The 2 sides of which represent the relationship between the customer and provider.

The initial identity was expanded across print and digital with brochures, invetment decks, business cards and branded energy bills.

Scaling the brand for digital

Outside of their printed collateral, Senapt also needed a refresh of their online presence to support the new brand direction and help to define their product offering.

The outcome

A closer look at Senapt's mission helped to create a brand identity that better articulated their purpose as a company and how, with their pioneering software, they intended to do this.
